Achievement Club: Play Games, Get Points, & Earn Prizes for your Accomplishments
Achievement Club: Platinum Edition
Welcome to the latest evolution of Epilogue Gaming: The Achievement Club. After a lot of consideration, we’ve decided to shake up the process of how our community can participate. The concept is simple:
Play Games, Get Points, & Earn Prizes
If you’re interested in achievement or trophy hunting, this community is for you. We primarily congregate on the official Epilogue Gaming Discord, so please join us there! That’s where you’ll be able to track your points and earn your prizes. There is no barrier to entry, so feel free to get started at any time!
Prizes
Earn a variety of prizes, ranging from things like a new Xbox Series console, an Elgato Stream Deck, an exclusive Epilogue Gaming: Achievement Club shirt, achievement bounties, gift cards, and a spot on the incoming Achievement Club leaderboard. These prizes will continue to evolve based on feedback, so let us know what prizes you’re hoping to earn with your points.
Rules
All of Achievement Club is based on the honor system. Cheating is not tolerated, and we assume players will participate in good faith.
- Earn points for beating games (from start to finish) or earn even more points for completing them (getting all of the achievements)
- Take a screenshot of when you begin a new game, and then another for when you complete a game and get all of the achievements!
- Submit your scores accomplishments to #achievement_club in the Epilogue Gaming Discord!
- You can only submit a game once per year for points.
That’s it! You don’t really need to know anything else from here. If you’re curious about the details, feel free to ask us in the Discord or scroll down for additional information on how we score games, how we decide prize numbers, and more!
How We Score Games
One of the most common questions we receive is about how we score the library of games we have. First and foremost: We will score anything you want to play. That means that as long as it’s an available game for others to play and experience, we will score it.
From there, we use a fairly straightforward formula. For every five hours, on average, a game takes to beat, we give it a point. That means if a game traditionally takes ten hours to beat, you’d receive two points for completing it from beginning to end. Conversely, if you decide to get all of the achievements or trophies for a game, you will earn up to two points for every five hours played. Here’s what the formula looks like at its most simplified:
Any%: Every 5 hours = ~1 point
100%: Every 5 hours = ~1-2 points
There are other variables, such as longer RPGs are often granted additional points because we don’t want people to rush through the experience. We’d rather they take their time. Yes, some will game the system. We are accepting of people treating Achievement Club in different ways.
We also consider game difficulty from the perspective of how difficult it is to obtain all achievements. This is highly subjective, as various levels of accessibility can often determine how difficult something is for someone to achieve. That being said, we do our best to evaluate achievement completion on the following criteria: 1) Are there miss-able achievements? 2) Do you have to replay the game more than once to complete all of its achievements? 3) Does it require playing the game on a harder setting than the default, or is the game generally more difficult to beat than a standard game?
Based on the above, scores will range anywhere from 1 point per five hours to 2 points per five hours. Hopefully you will trust our team to score games as best as we can, but we do take feedback when it’s available!
Epilogue Achievements
Epilogue Achievements are a new, additional way to earn points by playing games. These serve as video game challenges such as completing a “Nuzlocke Challenge” or completing video game randomizers. Completing these achievements earns you additional points, allowing you to get the most out of your favorite titles.
Additional Prize Info
Our prizes frequently rotate based on funding and the kinds of deals we get as a gaming outlet. These prizes can range from gift cards, to new consoles, to exclusive Epilogue Gaming merch. We try and best scale these prices based on what we can afford, and what wouldn’t feel too tedious for players to access. Prices may inflate as more players collect points. Please be patient with us, as this is a free community resource that we provide! Thanks to our Patrons for making this possible.
Achievement Bounties
One of the “prizes” you can earn by spending your hard-earned points are “achievement bounties.” These bounties allow you to specify an achievement that you enjoyed getting, and then earning points as others in the community complete it as well.
Doubling Points
One thing that is making a return this edition of Achievement Club is the return of doubling points! Because the Achievement Club has taken a shift away from competition and toward prize collecting, we felt like the time was ripe to return an advantage to our Platinum Tier Patrons. Thanks for your support!
